Thank-you cards

These are Thank-you cards I sent to my students' parents, congratulating and thanking them for allowing their children to be with me for a national competition held in Putrajaya on the 4th October, 2011.

Apart from having good students, I believe that parents must be appreciated too as they trust us with their children. In today's world, it is a great effort to gain the trust of parents and I have no issues with this as I too am a parent and can be paranoid at times. So I have decided to make each family a card and thank the parents.

Below is a orignally meant for 'Congratulation' but I have sinced removed the label and instead made it into a Thank-you card for another parent who is living in Kuala Lumpur. Really appreciated him and his family's hospitality and I believe that in no way we could repay their kindness and generosity. But I wish to bless this family with joyu, contentment and good health.

Girls in traditional Chinese costumes

I don't know what happen, can't seem to be able to move the photo.

This costume on the girl is worn by village girls way back in the olden days in China. Today you don't see this costum except on shows.

This is also another costume worn way back in the olden days. I love to draw girls in traditional costumes and because of this, you get to see a lot of my cards depict girls in traditional costumes. Drawing them and colouring them as well as designing the clothes are really, really not only therapeutic but a wonderful enjoyable hobby for me.

This costume has a hint of Japanese design but it is not a kimono. It is very Chinese and worn in the palace of princesses.

Quilling

Hi everyone. Took a long break. It is because I was busy with an Eco friendly competition held in Putrajaya Convention Hall. My school won the 1st place this year. Wow! An achievement as we are considered to be poor performers.

Anyway I would like to share some of my quilling works with you. Here are a few. The rest I had no time to take photos of them and thus were either given away or sold. Sorry............

Deepavali Cards

My dancing girls to welcome the Deepavali and to wish all my Hindu friends a Very Happy Deepavali. May this year be filled with good health, joy and contentment as well as fulfillment.

'HAPPY DEEPVALI' is hand written so it is not so beautiful.

A card for an ex principal on his retirement

Don't understand why my camera is so bad or perhaps my method of taking photos. Sigh.... I feel I am like the Chinese proverb that says " When you constipate, you blame the ground for being hard." So when I can't take wonderful photos, I blame the camera. Ha Ha Ha

Cards for different occasions

This card is for my daughter's friend who was celebrating her 14th birthday.

This card below is for a working peer who is furthering his studies in University Malaya. He was a temperory stuff of the school. When I was making this card, I had the intention of giving it to someone fun loving and easy going but I kept the card for a long while because there was no one who fitted my intention until much, much later. I was afraid that whoever recieved the card would be offended - being made a monkey but like I have explained earlier, it was meant for fun loving and easy going person and this person who recieved this card fitted my intention. All the best to this teacher who didn't have an easy time teaching because he was given last classes where students do as they like unless there is a firm hand. Ha Ha Ha
