Farewell Seniors

The card is made by my daughter for her school library senior prefects for the year end farewell.

The inside of the card. Both sides of the card with the heart designs are pockets for the seniors to write down their thoughts and thank-yous. Quite a wonderful idea but a lot of hard work especially while making the carousel and the 3-D effect.

I hope this card will help you in coming up with somewhat similar ones. Don't worry 'NO COPY RIGHTS' Ha Ha Ha. We all share our ideas but it is up to individual to do what she or he likes. Right friends?

My first quilling work which I am so excited and thus would like to share with you. The words 'Terima Kasih' means 'Thank You'. A group of teachers who were awarded 'Exellent Awards' threated everyone to a grand lunch on the 3oth. We share in their joy.

Retirement

This card is for a Chinese clerk who has worked in my school for 10 years. A really helpful person but of course she has her mood which nobody can blame, right? Some days we are cheerful and some days don't seem right.

Our clerk is retiring in August 7th and right after her retirement she will be going to Singapore to look after her grandson. And thus this card with her in mind is created - a grand lady who is upgraded from being a mom to a grandma. 'Grand'!!!

Her husband who was a Primary school headmaster has retired for more than 5 years but is very active.

We teachers wish her all the best in her future undertakings and wish her good health and lots of sunshine with rains to remind each other the wonderful presence of God.

Award

Every year civil servants are chosen for excellent award. This year in my school, a good friend of mine was chosen and we all felt so happy that at last she was given an award for her dedication. Every year we hoped and prayed that she would get it but every year it always went to someone whom we all felt was not so capable but what can we do but to have patience and wait and finally this year this friend was awarded for her hard work.

So to rejoice with her I have decided to make her a card. Tomorrow some of us will sign our names in to tell her we all think she deserves it albeit a long wait. But patience will grant reward because God says we all must wait.

I am sure you will know who Vasanthi is. Yeah, the lady sitting down with a garland of flowers. Standing beside her is her family.

CONGRATULATIONS VASANTHI!!!

Cards with dolls in Costumes

I had my inspiration from our local and famous Cartonist - LAT. I hope when LAT comes across my blog, he won't feel offended by this. I love his village scenes and certainly hope to produce more cards depicting local scenes. This lady standing at the balcony is definitely my favourite.

This card took me quite a while and if you ask me who am I giving this card to, I would give you a crazy reply - I AM NOT GIVING IT TO ANYONE. I would rather draw another. Ha Ha Ha So definitely I have quite a huge collection and this crazy me always take them out to see. Everytime when I do that, I imagine myself there. Ha Ha Ha I hope you will have a wonderful time looking through these cards here. I will post more later.

Hah........another of my favourite. Yes, this little Malay girl is sitting at the stairs waiting for her father to come home. I actually have a pair of slippers attached to the card but they fell off. Perhaps I will attach them to show you later.

Study this picture carefully. It is a typical Malay village house. Where the girl sits is a iron pot with milk can hanging on a stick. Before entering the house, the Malays usually wash their feet first. It is good manners because our feet are usually dirty when they are out the whole day. Look at the inside, there is nothing much but I would just like to share with my readers that; A Malay house maybe a poor house but it is always clean, neat and well taken care. The Malays are basically very house proud.

This type of wooden house is simply a joy to leave in. I have lived in one before and the cool breeze from the many, many coconut trees planted all around can truly lure one to sleep. I hope you will have a chance to visit such settlements. It depicts a carefree life, a life not bond with senseless rules and regulations. Here everyone is out in the open and if the owner wishes to visit his neighbour he can simply walk over without needing to lock his house. Yes, people are simple and honest.

A Malay lady going to town dressed decently.

If you notice the background of this card is a picture taken from a magazine. This is one way to show case the paper doll and this gives a homey look. Sometimes to actually draw, cut and paste such background can really take long tedious hours to complete.

This card is also a good method for recycle process.

Birthday

I would like to share a card I made for a very nice and helpful person today. Hr birthday was on the 17 th July but since 17th July was a Sunday, I had to delay one day.

On Transfer

A card for a friend who is retiring. Sorry that the photos are so poorly taken. I really don't know what to do with the camera. Sigh........

A basket of love (fruits) for her. As more gifts are given, I will upload the photos to share them with you.

We all are envious of her. Perhaps after working for so many, many years, the tired bones really need some rest. Anyway, this friend was saying that she will be going to Singapore to take care of her grandson. Well, she has actually changed her job. Ha Ha Ha. Taking care of the small one can be quite taxing as our old bones cannot move as fast as the young chap. Anyway, we wish her all the best.
